“MDIBL has always had a special place in our hearts. But being able to give a charitable gift through our IRA allows us to make a more impactful gift and reduce our taxable income.”
– Dr. Edward J. Benz, Jr. and Dr. Margaret A. Vettese
Gifts of Retirement Assets
Did you know, most retirement funds are highly taxed when transferred to others?
With a simple change of beneficiary form, you can designate MDI Biological Laboratory as a beneficiary of a percentage or dollar amount of your retirement assets. With this gift you can:
- Leave other, less heavily taxed assets to your loved ones
- Maintain maximum flexibility and change your beneficiaries at any time
- Take action without the expense of an attorney
- Support the critical research and education programs of MDIBL
IRA Qualified Charitable Distributions
If you are at least 70 ½ years old and have a traditional IRA, there’s a smart way to give to MDIBL. You can make a qualified charitable distribution (QCD), from your IRA that is 100% tax free, whether or not you itemize deductions on your tax return. Individuals age 70 ½ and older can distribute up to $100,000 each year from their IRAs to their favorite 501(c)(3) without counting the distribution as income.
