Maine INBRE Network

The Maine INBRE strengthens Maine’s capacity to conduct competitive biomedical research.

Maine INBRE focuses on three areas:

1. Creating a technically skilled workforce in Maine through biomedical research training for undergraduates.
2. Providing research support to young faculty to increase their competitiveness for federal (NIH) biomedical research grants.
3. Improving the research infrastructure available to INBRE institutions through a collaborative network of core facilities with state-of-the-art equipment.

Maine INBRE aims to strengthen Maine’s capacity to conduct NIH-competitive biomedical research while focusing on the field of comparative functional genomics. The program provides research support and core facilities to junior faculty and creates research and training opportunities for undergraduate and graduate students. It serves as a pipeline for students interested in biomedical research careers and builds the scientific and technical capacity of Maine’s workforce.
