Facilties

Research at the MDI Biological Laboratory takes place throughout the year in more than 35,000 sq. ft. of state-of-the-art laboratory space. MDI Biological Laboratory faculty, collaborating and visiting scientists and students have access to the sophisticated scientific tools, resources, expertise and space available on our campus. Research Laboratories

MDI Biological Laboratory is home to 36,500 sq. ft. of state-of-the-art laboratory space. Together, the Kathryn W. Davis and the Martha and Wistar Morris research buildings comprise 26,000 sq. ft. of modern laboratory, core facility, office and meeting space on the MDI Biological Laboratory campus. Ten smaller laboratory buildings are located along the coastline of our campus and available to participants in our Visiting Scientist program.

Conference Facilities

The stunning Maine Center for Biomedical Innovation offers flexible classroom, lecture and poster session spaces that can easily be configured to meet your needs. Maren Auditorium is a fully equipped conference facility accommodating up to 155 participants. The adjacent Dahlgren Hall provides breakout meeting and overflow space for up to 50 participants.

Housing

A range of housing options combine the convenience and efficiency of being on site, with the beauty and quiet of being surrounded by nature in downeast Maine. MDI Biological Laboratories cottages, efficiency apartments, and dormitories are available for rent by scientists and students visiting the MDI Biological Laboratory for research activities, educational programs, and conferences.
