Patricia Chen
Patty Chen is a retired Operations executive from Freddie Mac who led all aspects of the company's operations including Freddie Mac’s partnership with the US Treasury Department to implement the Obama Administration’s Making Home Affordable program.
She has spoken at numerous conferences on operational efficiency and leadership both internationally and in the US. Prior to Freddie Mac she was a consultant with Advanced Technology Corporation, and also spent a year overseas in Nanjing, China working for the Amity Foundation in partnership with the National Council of Churches USA/China program.
Patty has served on several non-profit boards including Emmaus Services for the Aging and is currently serving as Chairperson of the Executive Advisory Board for the Center for Social Leadership in Washington DC. Patty has a B.S. from Rutgers University and an MBA from George Washington University as well as a certificate in Lay Theological Studies from Wesley Theological Seminary in Washington DC. She currently splits her time between Reston, Virginia and Southwest Harbor, Maine. Patty was introduced to MDIBL only a couple of years ago and was immediately inspired to help the organization achieve its groundbreaking goals. She was drawn not only to the impressive ongoing scientific work but the incredible history, culture of collaboration and the amazing individuals who work there and their focus on nurturing the next generation of scientists.
