Collaborating with Jane Disney, Ph.D., Dr. Stanton will work on Data to Action: A Secondary School-based Citizen Science Project to Address Arsenic Contamination of Well Water. The goal of this project is to enhance STEM education in Maine, to encourage students to develop a life-long interest in science and to consider a career in science.
Dr. Stanton will also join forces with James A Coffman, Ph.D., for an exploratory research project that will use zebrafish as a model system to test the hypothesis that arsenic exacerbates viral disease by decreasing the anti-inflammatory signaling pathway response.
