Dr. Hudson’s research into the pathophysiology of kidney disease has led to a multi-disciplinary research program focused on the chemistry, pathophysiology and evolutionary origins of an extracellular matrix scaffold called the basement membrane. Basement membranes provide cell and tissue support and act as a platform for complex signaling. His work is paving the way for the development of kidney disease therapies.
Dr. Hudson will work with Dr. Murawala writing several papers on the evolution of collagen IV genes.
