“I am a life long student of the sciences, and they inform my work as an artist,” says David Sywalski, a renowned sculptor based in Cherryfield, Maine. In this café, Sywalski will lead participants through an exploration of the granite sculpture carving process and its various tools and techniques.
The MDI Science Cafés are a program of the MDI Biological Laboratory. They offer a relaxed, informal way to learn about the latest scientific developments. Each café lasts about an hour. Presentations are made in everyday language and questions are welcome.
Cafés are free of charge, and refreshments are available.
