On Thursday, July 23, 2020 we held the 122nd Annual Meeting of the MDI Biological Laboratory.
The last year has been a busy and productive year at the Lab, and despite the disruption of COVID-19, we are moving ahead with confidence and determination toward our goals.
Some highlights outlined in this year’s Annual Meeting include:
*️⃣ The introduction of Vision 2020-2025 (see pgs 8-11), our guiding strategy to become an international hub for the best aging and regeneration researchers from across the globe.
*️⃣ The hire of two talented new faculty – Prayag Murawala, Ph.D., who researches limb regeneration (see pgs 4-7) limb regeneration in Mexican salamanders/axolotls, and Romaine Madeline, Ph.D., who studies macular degeneration in the Zebrafish.
*️⃣ Formation of the President’s Cabinet, an advisory group of who are dedicated to advancing the mission of MDIBL. Their leadership, philanthropic commitment and advocacy help provide the resources required to help nurture innovative ideas, launch new initiatives and train the next generation of scientists, physicians and entrepreneurs.
*️⃣ Launch of our Million Dollar Match Challenge — All new and increased gifts to MDIBL between now and December 31 will be matched. If you have been considering making a gift to MDIBL, now is an excellent opportunity to double the impact of your gift.
