Art Meets Science Café – Bearing Witness
Kinne Library, MDI Biological Laboratory
Doors open at 4:15 pm to view the 2016 exhibit A Fresh Field of Life: Artists, Naturalists and the Vision for Acadia.

The relationship between sight and subject will be the topic of a presentation by Mount Desert Island painter Ben Lincoln.
Lincoln, who works in a studio in Pretty Marsh once used by his father to build wooden boats, is known for a series of oil paintings inspired by sailboats and the wind. In his talk, he will explore the scientific, artistic and philosophical relationships between sight and subject using images representing different models of observation.
Art Meets Science Cafés are an educational outreach program of the MDI Biological Laboratory, open to the public, free of charge.
