Located on Mount Desert Island on the downeast coast of Maine, our magnificent oceanfront campus is the perfect destination for your memorable conference/symposium experience. Our year-round facilities provide first class services for all your conference needs.
The MDI Biological Laboratory’s extensive courses and conferences program is supported by modern infrastructure and skilled staff. The newest addition to our campus is the stunning Maine Center for Biomedical Innovation, which offers a state-of-the-art laboratory, as well as flexible classroom, lecture and poster session spaces that can easily be configured to meet your needs.
The Maren Auditorium is a fully equipped conference facility accommodating up to 155 participants. The Maren Conference Center and the Kathryn W. Davis Center for Regenerative Biology and Medicine also feature flexible lecture/teaching spaces.
All meals and catering can be provided on campus. Limited on-campus housing for students may be available and our education team can assist with arranging hotel room blocks.
The MDI Biological Laboratory campus is located five minutes from Acadia National Park, which is home to miles of rocky shoreline, abundant wildlife and Cadillac Mountain—the tallest mountain on the Atlantic coast. Mount Desert Island offers panoramic views, cycling and hiking paths, canoeing, kayaking and swimming. Bar Harbor and its neighboring communities are known for outstanding dining, shopping and arts activities.
The MDI Biological Laboratory is accessible via Bangor International Airport, with direct connections to Philadelphia, Washington D.C., New York and Detroit. The Hancock County-Bar Harbor Airport connects directly to Boston. The Bar Harbor and Bangor airports are located 10 and 70 minutes from campus, respectively. Learn more …
