The MDI Biological Laboratory will host a grant writing seminar and workshop led by David C. Dawson, Ph.D., Professor Emeritus, Department of Physiology an Pharmacology at Oregon Health and Science University, and former director of MDI Biological Laboratory. Dr. Dawson is a longtime reviewer for the NSF and NIH, as well as the recipient of many institutional and independent research grants.
This is a combination seminar and workshop event. The seminar, which will be held on Wednesday morning, July 10, is open to the public. Following the seminar, individuals participating in the workshop portion of the event will develop and submit by 10:00 PM July 10 a 1-2 page “mini proposal” based on the guidelines and principles discussed during the seminar. These mini-grant proposals will be reviewed by assigned participants in a mock study section on Thursday afternoon, July 11.
New investigators and junior investigators are especially encouraged to take advantage of this unique opportunity.
