Student Summer Symposium

MDI Biological Laboratory Summer Fellows will showcase their 10-Week research projects by presenting talks and posters.

Overview

Students in the Summer Fellowship Program will share their 10-week research findings by presenting talks, posters, and producing research papers. The Symposium is the culmination of the hard work of students, their faculty mentors and lab groups, all of whom have made this a successful summer of research and learning.

The Summer Student Symposium events (schedule below) will have remote, hybrid and in person participation options. Please use the contact button above to request additional information. 

Schedule

Wednesday, August 3rd:

12:00 pm

Discussion forums are open for poster sessions. Enter a session and read presentations, ask a question, or leave a comment. Students will receive e-mails when comments are made in a discussion thread. Once a registrant enters the discussion, they will also receive e-mails in any discussion thread in which they have participated.

Thursday, August 4th:

4:00 – 6:00 pm

Students will present 3-minute thesis-style presentations of their research via Zoom.

8:00 pm

Discussion forums close for poster sessions. (Posters can still be viewed, but comments cannot be added.)

Friday, August 5th:

1:00 – 3:00 pm

MDIBL students will present 3-minute thesis-style presentations of their research at the Maren Auditorium

3:00-5:00 pm In-Person Poster Session at MCBI with light refreshments

Summer Fellows are supported by a variety of sources including Maine INBRE (NIH-NIGMS grant P20GM103423), NSF REU, The Murphy Fund at MDIBL, and other generous donations.
