The MDI Biological Laboratory seeks a Training Lab Coordinator to support courses, conferences, and student research programs on campus. This position is responsible for managing the use of the training laboratory for the institution and coordinating other science education programs.
The MDI Biological Laboratory (MDIBL) is a rapidly growing, independent, non-profit biomedical research institution recognized by the international science community and the National Institutes of Health for its highly focused and novel research program in regenerative and aging biology and medicine. The Laboratory provides a uniquely collaborative and multidisciplinary research environment, outstanding scientific resources, and excellent student educational programs.
The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills to effectively interface with course directors, faculty members, and staff to ensure all needs and requirements are met; strong organizational skills for managing supply orders and facility schedules; strong attention to detail to set up lab benches for courses and clean and re-stock the laboratory storeroom after events; and demonstrated expertise in various software programs including Word, InDesign, and databases.
The ideal candidate will also have a bachelor’s degree in the biological sciences or science education, lab experience or familiarity with laboratory settings, and at least 1-2 years of experience supporting projects in an office environment.
