MDI Biological Laboratory, Mount Desert Island, Maine
MDI Biological Laboratory (MDIBL) seeks a highly organized Sponsored Programs Coordinator to provide administrative and compliance support for its grant programs. As a member of the Finance Office team, the successful candidate will report to the Sponsored Programs Manager and work directly with faculty to identify funding opportunities, prepare and submit proposals, maintain faculty administrative data, review and update budgets, and ensure adherence to grantor policies. This position plays a critical role in identifying and acquiring funds to support the research and educational mission of MDIBL.
Required Qualifications include: 3+ years of experience in administrative or financial support of grants or similar programs; demonstrated organizational skills, strong math aptitude, effective writing skills, and attention to detail; proficiency with MS Word and Excel; ability to be flexible, work cooperatively, and develop new skills and expertise in a growing team environment
Preferred Qualifications include: Bachelor’s degree; experience in a non-profit, educational, or research institution; budget management and/or accounting experience; familiarity with federal or state grants; and experience supporting science programs or faculty
This is a full-time, hourly (non-exempt) position with excellent benefits.
