A full time Research Assistant position is available in the Murawala Lab at the MDI Biological Laboratory. The Murawala Lab is interested in the phenomenal tissue regeneration ability of the Mexican salamander – axolotl. This Research Assistant position will assist in collecting and manipulating axolotl embryos for the purpose of generating transgenic/CRISPant axolotl and will perform tissue histology techniques such as Cryo and paraffin sectioning.
This position requires an interest in embryonic development, tissue regeneration and a basic knowledge of tissue histology techniques, gained through training and experience equivalent to a bachelor’s degree in biological sciences. Experience and expertise with molecular biology (plasmid handling, PCR, cloning, etc.) is preferred. A willingness to learn something new and employ logical thinking and reasoning is expected. Training in experimental approaches to studies tissue regeneration will be provided.
