A full time Research Assistant position is available immediately in the Drummond Lab to raise and breed zebrafish, manage the lab’s fish colony, and assist in collecting and manipulating zebrafish embryos for the purpose of discovering new genes and their function in kidney development, disease and regeneration.
This position requires basic knowledge of molecular biology, plasmid handling and PCR, obtained through study towards a biology degree or equivalent experience. Under the direction of senior lab staff, you may also create mutants using CRISPR technology and make new transgenic lines for analysis of gene expression. Training in experimental approaches to studies of gene function will be provided.
