The Beck Lab, newly launching in August at MDI Biological Laboratory (PI: Samuel Beck), seeks a motivated postdoctoral research fellow, to begin summer/fall, 2017. The Beck Lab investigates the gene regulation using Big Data analysis and experimental validation. The lab aims to understand the comprehensive biological mechanisms underlying gene regulation at the transcription level and how the dysregulation of such process is associated with human diseases including aging and cancer.
1. Genomics/computational biology: Candidates should have expertise in genomics and/or computational biology. Experiences in genomics data (RNA-seq, ChIP-seq, genetic mutation and other NGS data) analysis in Linux environment, and expertise in R and Perl/Python is required. Experiences in wet-lab experiments including mammalian tissue culture and/or RNA/DNA analysis are preferred.
2. Cell/cancer biology: Candidates should have expertise in mammalian cell biology. Expertise in mammalian tissue culture, DNA/RNA analysis (Q-PCR), protein analysis (western blot) and cell/tissue imaging (immunofluorescence) is required. Experiences in genome editing using CRISPR/Cas9 system are preferred.
Review of applications will continue until the position is filled. This is a full-time salaried position with benefits.
The MDI Biological Laboratory is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
