Lab Technician

Job Description:

A full time Lab technician position is available in the Murawala Lab at the MDI Biological Laboratory. Our lab is interested in the phenomenal tissue regeneration ability of the Mexican salamander – axolotl. To learn more about our lab, please visit - https://murawalalab.mdibl.org/

Candidates with an interest in embryo development, tissue regeneration and a basic knowledge of tissue histology techniques is preferred but not necessary. This is an excellent opportunity for someone to work side-by-side with researchers and to learn how basic research is conducted.

What is expected:

A willingness to learn something new and employ logical thinking and reasoning is expected. Training in experimental approaches to studies in tissue regeneration will be provided.

Your role in the lab include the following duties:

Lab ordering, autoclaving, animal husbandry, embryo manipulation. The lab technician will have an opportunity to learn generating of transgenic/CRISPant axolotl and to perform tissue histology techniques such as Cryo and paraffin sectioning.
