The MDI Biological Laboratory (MDIBL) is a rapidly growing, independent, non-profit biomedical research institution. Our scientific focus is on the molecular and cellular mechanisms of tissue regeneration and aging. Our campus provides an excellent educational program. The Administrative Director works closely with the President to develop and advance all institutional goals and programs. He/she oversees the daily operations of the institution and the work of department managers. This individual will be a highly collaborative and transformational leader with strong interpersonal and communication skills and will serve as a liaison to the Faculty, Staff, Board of Trustees and wider community including the public and political and industry leaders. The Administrative Director will serve as a resource to all groups and be approachable, detail oriented, skilled in problem solving, and have a demonstrated track record of leadership and management.
Qualifications: Must possess a PhD or MD, with a record of biomedical research expertise. Excellent communication (written and oral) and grant writing skills, and analytical skills for review of all administrative functions including education, finance, grants, human resources, development, public relations, facilities, and short and long-range planning. Experience in leading collaborative research and/or research training programs is desirable.
